Must Unbelievers Accept Trinity To Become A Christian?
Incomprehensible Nature
Trinity!!!
What I support or don't is not about any group or sect. I only trust the Bible, and if you respect the Bible enough than any human ideology, then you would definitely give this post a thought.
I do say it and I will again. We are trying to describe who God is beyond what he revealed to us, thus messing up a big time.
Unitarian has their own different view of their doctrine likewise Trinitarians.
Going back to 341 A.D. , before the council of Ephesus took place. Cyril and Nestorious were into serious argument on Christ's person.
Now, Nestorious was trying to say Mary was not a mother of God, but of Jesus and it's only the humanity of Christ that suffered, died and resurrected not the Godhead while Cyril was saying she was a mother of God, both the Godhead I.e. His divine nature and his humanity suffered, died, and resurrected. Though the distinction Nestorious made between Jesus's human nature and Divine nature sound somehow confusing, the truth is he tendered serious argument and verses to back it up. Cyril also did well, but the duo were Trinitarians.
I want us to forget the part that Nestorious was condemned by the council and was considered to be anathema. To me He was not a heretic, but a man who loved Christ and fear nothing to proclaim his belief. But the nature of God is beyond our understanding.
Quoting one of my mentor
"My approach is not to try to explain the Trinity, but to give several more examples of seemingly contradictory truth that is beyond our full comprehension, yet we accept it. For example, our own nature consists of body, soul, and spirit, though there is considerable discussion and difficulty in distinguishing soul and spirit, and even theological controversy about whether they are distinguishable (dipartite versus tripartite viewpoints). The connection between the brain and the mind is an unsolvable mystery. It cannot be proved that all our thoughts and emotions are not merely the product of a vastly complex organic computer network. To ask for such a proof is to try to use logic to answer a question that goes beyond logic, which is illogical. If we are in fact created beings, we should not expect to be able to fully understand ourselves, let alone our Creator. We can at least say that our feelings of personhood and meaning seem to tell us we are more than a complex machine"
All these issues should be between Christians, and it's not meant to be preached.
Even Paul stated clearly there are easy and difficult teachings, if Paul could think milk is what some Christians deserved, and could later move to the meat. The nature of God is not difficult, but incomprehensible.
Heb 5:12 In fact, though by now you should be teachers, you still need someone to teach you the basic truths of God’s word. You have become people who need milk instead of solid food.
1Co 3:1-2
1 Brothers, I couldn’t talk to you as spiritual people but as worldly people, as mere infants in the Messiah.
2 I gave you milk to drink, not solid food, because you weren’t ready for it. And you’re still not ready!
Trinitarian and Unitarian issue, where does that belong?
Preaching Trinity to unbelievers makes you more stupid than you think they are.
I'm not saying you shouldn't defend the truth, but not trying to convincing them to accept your understanding of His nature, unless you want to be contradicting yourself.
Sorry to say, I'm just trying to be honest here.Trinity is not meant to be accepted to become a Christian. Never!
And here comes a funny argument.
You said canal mind can't understand Trinity, but you are trying to make the Canal mind to accept it to become a real Christian. Who is stupid here?
70 to 80 percent of Trinitarians are Trinitarians simply because that's how they are brought up, only few personally acknowledge it through biblical studies. Many believe without understanding what they believe, while many gained knowledge of it after many years of being into the doctrine. I've seen many.
Even a true biblical scholar - especially the few I know and conversed with - confessed that Trinity is not clear. It seems contradictory. And that is it. None of them expect the Godhead to be clear to us. Don't go ahead, giving people puzzle to solve. There are many created things we couldn't comprehend, it's stupid to think you understand the nature of the Creator.
Preach the Gospel the right way...
Christ saves... and that is it... He suffered, died and resurrected because of you and me. That's the Gospel we are ordered to preach.
